Talking Chairs Project

Talking Chairs Project

Project details

Returning to the Kitchen Table, but this time to bring the chairs, using the concept of pull up a chair, sit down and let’s talk. Once again, working with Abby Oliveira to create a dynamic project to empower women to be bold. Finding women throughout history who encapsulated the idea of being bold for change, participants connected with their stories. These women’s names along with statements from the participants were added to the chairs. There was also an exhibition of images, statements for change. Using printed media, words were repurposed to create protest statements.

Talking Chairs Project

Funded by ACNI, DCSDC and EANI through Eden Place Arts Centre, The Talking Chair Project was the second showcase exhibition for International Women’s Day working with women from The Rainbow Project Women’s Group, Headliners, Pilot’s Row Youth Group and St Mary’s Youth Group.
